Student and Travellers Inn - Athens
I arrived in Athens in the middle of summer it was about 45 degrees C to this hostel. All the Lonely Planet Guides and travel guides recommended this place, but I wouldn’t! The lady at reception – who was the owner had the effects of a massive beating (bruises head to toe) and being on my own this was not a very inviting thing to be checking into. The rooms were average at least it wasn’t bunk beds, the bathrooms were fairly gross and I really couldn’t see these ‘renovations’ they were advertising. Free internet was great and they did have a desk where you could book all your ferries and hostels for the Greek islands which was really handy! On a plus note it is in Plaka which is the best spot of Athens, and according to a few people it’s the only area of Athens you should stay in, with great market shopping and restaurants, but the hostel did not make a good impression on me!
