This is a party hostel!!!!
Throughout my travels in Europe whenever the conversation came to Barcelona and hostels to stay in, the Kabul Backpackers Hostel would often get a mention. So when I finally made it to Barcelona I had to check this place out!
The location of the hostel is Great. It is located in Placa Reial which is right near the main area of Barcelona… Las Ramblas.
The facilities are ok, pretty much standard for a hostel. It has free wireless internet which is fantastic!!
The main draw card for this hostel is its party atmosphere!!! The bar is great for meeting other travellers. The drinks are cheap, I paid only 3 euros for 2 pints of beer.
I met some awesome people here. There were also plenty of young idiots staying here too (mainly from America) but I turned a blind eye to this.
Overall, if your travelling alone, or want a hostel with a good party atmosphere…. Don’t look anywhere else this place is for you.
However, if you want a quiet nights sleep, this is not the ideal place.

I checked out on time, and my room was left just as I left it… However, I didn’t get my deposit (15 Euros) back when I gave in my key, and when I emailedthe next day they said I couldn’t get it back as I should have asked at the time… I guess this happens a lot, and I wonder how much extra mioney they make from this and whether the staff member or the hostel kept it? They didn’t answer that email!
Other than that, its difficult to charge phones as there’s no electric in the room.. There’s internet access, but not enough computers (esp compared to other hostels), and a lot of these are very uncomfortable to sit at. Its very noisy, loud music that you can hear through earplugs comes from the common room until past 1am, even if you have a quieter room. Its noisy in the day too, as there’s building work going on in the halls, so its hard to make up for the lack of sleep with a siesta! T The staff are no-where near as friendly as other hostels and are often quite rude/intimidating/unhelpfull. Though I must say the guy that served breakfast was lovely and even taught me some catalan
Other than that the lockers are good as you open them ith your room key (though after reading the posts below I’m a bit more concerned with leaving valuables in there than I was).he bunk beds are hgh with very narrow ladders too, I got stuck/nearly fell off a few times, which has never happened in other hostels! The rooms are also very cramped, the beds are lockers are close together and there’s hardly any space. A lot less that any other hostel I’ve been in, we are all trampling on each other all the time, very difficult! The air conditioning wasn’t working in the room either, so it was very hot… There aren’t kitchens to make food.
