The Jumbo Hostel is a big ol’ jet airliner that won’t be carrying anybody too far away. But this transformed 747-212B jumbo jet will provide a tasty meal and a comfortable night’s rest. You can’t miss it. It’s stationed at the entrance of Stockholm’s Arlanda Airport, making it an ideal place for the traveling businessman or busy flyers. There are also accommodations for families. Even though it’s only been open since January of 2009, it’s become a landmark at this Swedish airport.

Being a hostel, all rooms have the shower and lavatory in the corridor except for the cockpit suite, the black box suite and one single room. The cockpit suite is a deluxe room for two. It has a spectacular panoramic view of Arlanda’s air traffic. This suite features the pilot’s instrumentation and some of the original interior still in place. The black box suite is located at the tail end of the jet. It is a spacious room well equipped for small families. Other accommodations available include single rooms that are well suited for the business traveler. Some rooms are designed for two guests. Most of the rooms come with three comfy beds. And a few rooms will sleep four people. On both upper and lower decks, Jumbo Hostel offers a total of 27 rooms. All rooms include free wireless internet access and a flatscreen TV. A television channel with flight departure times is provided for your convenience.

On the upper deck is a very posh conference lounge. The lounge is equipped with first class seating. Here up to eight people can enjoy a unique meeting experience with refreshments available. Also onboard is the café where you can rest and order a meal. Hostel owner, Oscar Dios, welcomes families, travelers and aviation buffs alike to come onboard and enjoy the café for a fascinating excursion. Wireless broadband connections are available in the lounge and the café. During the summertime you can enjoy the view of Arlanda’s taxi-runway upon the left wing observation deck. It’s a fun and exciting way to see the exterior of the jumbo jet up close. Because viisitors can actually walk out onto the jet’s wing.

Jumbo Hostel is a convenient, budget friendly way to stay the night near the airport. It’s only a quick 10 minute walk from Arlanda’s check-in counters. If Arlanda Airport is on your itinerary, then it’s here that you got to stay.
