Absolutely disgusting. While this hostel is cheap, and has a pretty good location just off of Queensway/Bayswater, it is probably the worst place I’ve ever stayed. The entire hostel is composed of one stairway with about one or two rooms per floor. The beds are bunked, gross, and there are bed bugs. Terrible bed bugs, about everyone I met was getting bitten. The kitchen was tiny and there was no lounge area or TV room to hang out in. So unless you are really on a budget, I wouldn’t suggest staying here!

This hostel is located in Shepherds bush directly opposite from the new London Westfield shopping centre. It’s fairly small but still has everything needed including a common room. It also has a bar downstairs which is also open to the public. This hostel is particularly popular with antipodeons!
Hostel Features:
- Bar
- Common room
- Close to shops and Walkabout Bar
- Washing and Drying facilities
- Breakfast Included
Address: 13-15 Shepherd’s Bush Green, London
This hostel is the biggest in London with 800 beds.
But in this case bigger isn’t always better!
I stayed here in autumn, and even though the hostel was fairly full… the bar was always empty.
I was expecting this hostel to be more lively than what it was.
The bedroom i stayed in was very average. It was in the basement, so it got very little sunlight. The room didnt look like it got cleaned very well, or regularly.
One thing I did like about this hostel is every person got a large locker which was able to fit all of my belongings (and I had a lot of stuff!!).
The location of this hostel is good, its a walk away from King’s Cross tube and St Pancras International. Both Camden and Oxford street is about 20mins walk away.
I think this hostel would be much more lively in the summer months!

This hostel kinda sucks.
For starters it costs about £17 - per night (2007). That is very expensive seeing it isn’t close to the city at all. For the same price you can pretty much stay at any hostel within central London.
There is also no common room and no kitchen!!
So if you want to relax, your only place to do it is either in your room or the Beluishis pub it is attached to.
This hostel has no backpackers atmosphere whatsoever. So if you want one of those hostels that are good for meeting other backpackers… go somewhere else. There is no chance of walking to any of the London sights from this hostel, you will either have to take the underground or a bus.
The only positive thing is the bedrooms and bathrooms are in good condition.
I wouldn’t recommend this hostel to anybody… its not good value for money at all.

This hostel isn’t too bad.
It has a colourful interior and the rooms are clean.
It is very international, plenty of Spanish, French, Italian, etc. It also has a small number of weekly rooms, taken up by working holiday makers who are new to London and are trying to find work and/or accomodation.
This hostel makes an effort to encourage its residents to socialise by hosting dinner and movie nights. This is good if your travelling alone!
The staff are quite friendly (well they were to me) so no compliants there.
Finally, the location of this hostel is great! It’s located in between Pimlico Underground and Victoria station (slightly closer to Pimlico, however both very walkable). It is tucked away from the hustle & Bustle of Central London however still located very centrally (Zone 1).
This is one of the better hostels I have stayed in in London.
